Penalty shootout
Each question is one penalty kick. The answers glow in the corners of the goal, the student picks a corner, and the kicker runs up and shoots there. A right answer scores; a wrong one is saved, hits the post or flies wide.
How to play Penalty shootout
- Press Play to walk out onto the pitch.
- Read the question and pick the corner with the right answer: click it, or press 1 to 4, A to D, or T and F.
- Watch the kick, then line up for the next question.
Right and wrong answers
A right answer is a goal with a cheer. A wrong answer is saved or misses, and the next kick follows straight away, so the match keeps its pace.

Best from A1 to B1. Answers are capped at 20 characters, which fits single words, short phrases and verb forms.

Penalty shootout: questions teachers ask
How long is a Penalty Shootout game?
Up to ten kicks, one per question. Past ten the shootout starts to drag, so the game stops there.
How long can the answers be?
Up to 20 characters per answer and 75 per question, so every option fits its corner of the goal.
What happens on a wrong answer?
The keeper saves it, or the ball hits the post or goes wide. The answer counts as wrong and the next kick begins.
