How to create a vocabulary exercise

ChalkLab turns your word list or lesson idea into vocabulary practice for A1 to C2 learners. AI drafts a meaning, an example sentence, a synonym and a translation for each word, and you check the list before any exercise is made. It is made for ESL teachers who want multiple choice, true or false, text input or match up practice without writing every question by hand. When a ready-made ChalkLab question set already fits your words, you can use it; otherwise ChalkLab writes a new exercise. They are saved to your ChalkLab account with a link to share with students.

  1. Add your words or idea

Paste a word list, or open the “Idea” tab and describe the lesson. Pick the CEFR level, how many words you want and your students’ language.

  2. Check the word list

Read the AI-drafted meanings and example sentences, tick the words to keep, and ask the chat to change anything. Then choose one exercise type: Multiple choice, True or false, Text input or Match up.

  3. Get exercises

Preview a matching ChalkLab question set and click “Use this set”, or click “Create a new exercise” for fresh questions. Approve to save it to your account and share the link with students.
